The Stilton Run, held this year on the 24th April, is one of the events on Drive It Day every year. It is organised in aid of the Air Ambulance and follows the original delivery route used by the makers of Stilton Cheese from Quenby Hall in Leicestershire to the Bell Inn in Stilton on the Cambridge border. Not a great distance but a pleasant run and plenty of stops and vistas along the route to enjoy
The event which qoc members from Northampton, Cambridge and Leicester have been attending for seven of the nine years it has been running has become so popular that Quenby Hall cannot accommodate all the cars and now we all meet at Uppingham for the start of the run.
As you can see from some of the photographs it attracts all vintages and types for car with the owners sharing a common interest in the preservation and enjoyment of their cars.
This year we had two quattros from Area K courtesy of Mick Wooley and Marcus Reynolds both of whom had spent considerable time and effort prepping their cars for the close scrutiny they received at the various stopping points along the route from admirers.
A very pleasant day out for the motor enthusiast and you never know who you meet either, John Robinson and his wife turned out in their M.G. in support of this very popular annual event which covers three of our club areas. See you there next year.
