Castle Combe
This year’s Rallyday delivered unparalleled levels of World Championship history, with cars attending from around the world, together with a vast array of club stands, trade villages and white knuckle passenger laps on track.
What a Great Day it was with temperatures reaching 25 degrees, the weather didn’t let us down. All the members present with their 8 Urs were able to enjoy an amazing day. We had an excellent display of Ur colours including a rare Nile Green belonging to our member Adam.
Castle Combe is a very friendly circuit and a great day out particularly Rally Day. We were allocated a prime position to display our cars, just opposite the track and near the main entrance. Out came the polishing clothes and the detailer ensuring we all showed off our quattros at their best. As always in these events/shows, the public is very interested in the quattro, everybody remembering the awesome Rallying 80’s. Throughout the day, loads of questions from the public, telling us their stories of quattros they had owned and sold, now regretting it deeply and seeing our cars gave them a sad feeling.
Once the cars were polished and shining, out came the fold up chairs, the picnic table, the cool boxes and picnic baskets, time for a rest and a well deserved lunch. We continued to have a fabulous day together and talked about all our experiences and how we all fell into the relationship with our quattros.
All in all, a fantastic day, thank all you for coming.
We hope that next year you will be able to make it, an event not to be missed.
