Ireland Tour 2017

The Manor House County Hotel in Enniskillen was our base for 3 nights. In total 17 cars made the crossing to Northern Ireland, some via Belfast and some via Dublin: 13 Urs plus S4, SQ5, RS3 Avant and a coupe quattro.

  A nice collection

Thursday was arrival day, an occasion to meet old and new Tourers. Friday morning after a hearty breakfast, we set off for the Giant's Causeway, run mostly on quiet B roads at a brisk pace. After lunch at the Causeway Hotel, our route was to be via Derry, Letterkenny, Donegal and Ballyshannon finishing at Loch Erne for a late afternoon cruise and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

 A mottley crew

Day two, and Saturday morning's trip south to Westport gave us a clue as to why Ireland is the Emerald Isle! After lunch at Knockranny House Hotel, the afternoon drive was via Newport, Mulrany, past the Nephin Beg range through Ballycroy National Park and on to Ballina before heading through Sligo, Enniskillen and back to Manor House. More excellent dining followed by some presentations and goodies to all participants, quite a night. A great end to the Tour.

As always on qOC Tours, Sunday morning is goodbye time, most members saying “see you next year”. End of a very enjoyable Tour, 2018 back in Scotland.
