On 28th June we had our first online Annual General Meeting with 22 members present. As you can imagine, there are positives and negatives in this type of meeting compared to our normal face to face AGM.
Nevertheless, the meeting ran nicely to time and was concluded in one hour thirty minutes, with any member questions addressed by myself and the committee. However, we all missed the social interaction, banter and viewing of the cars that come along.
The Area Coordinators were thanked for supporting their respective Areas and invited those Club members who do not have a current Area rep in their region to consider stepping up, perhaps as a duo if you prefer, to take on the role. We often find the more you put in, the more you get out of the Club so if this is something you would consider please let me know and I can talk you through what is involved and how we can assist you.
On that note, we decided to highlight this by presenting an award to the most enthusiastic Area representative. This year we are delighted to present this to Desmond Bullock and his wife Mandy (Area G) who have done so much for the Club even in these difficult times. They are at many events and have written so great stuff for the newsletter.
Regrettably, due to the current situation, it hasn’t been ideal for the qOC and our plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the quattro (and 30th of the qOC).
Also, thanks to John Robinson who created and organised the Anniversary Club polo shirts, which have proved very popular with the membership.
We cautiously hope that the Anniversary Dinner at the end of October may be able to go ahead, and if this is the case, I promise we will make a big night of it. Phil Jameson has this in hand. Thank you to Phil for all the time and effort put into our Club events, it has all been appreciated.
Hope to see you at our 2021 AGM.
